唔唔,我的印象裡
上櫃跟上市
一個類似go public,另一個才是真正的listed?
不過也可能不是這樣說的
請知道的人糾正一下...

IPO, Initial Public Offering, 30 days lock up period. IPO is a process of listing either in equity (Shares) or debt (Bonds).

Plcs on the LSE are called listed companies.
LSE, London Stock Exchange.

Listed Companies are all Public Companies, PLC. But not all Public Companies are listed.
Limited Company is known as Ltd. Ltd can't go listed. Unless members, namely shareholders, alter the articles or memo of company.

In response to the commercial English section, business operation shall be categorise into sole, partnership and company. Company as mentioned can be Ltd or Public. It is very common for NY Partnership to register as Limited Liability company, Partnership LLP.

It is a trend now in the U.K. to have partnership registered as LLP. For the reason of restricting personal liability.

Pty is Proprietary.
OTC, over the counter, meaning trading off the regulated markets. OTC generally refers to trading on contracts tailor-made for individual needs. Commodities are the general examples. All Commodities are by no means OTC. Commodities can be categorised into Regulated (standardised contract, i.e Chicago commodities exchange) and OTC.

Above is by no means an exhaustive list.

Maybe I am too picky.

But "plc" means public limited company (not just public company). A plc is also a limited company.

BTW, there is no "Chicago Commodities Exchange". The big two in Chicago are Chicago Board of Trade and Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

Thanks for the precious information regarding the IPO in the stock market. Normally the company shall be regarded as a flotation before they can be recognised in stock market. Anyway, appreciate!!!

Go Public 是指公開發行(這是動詞)
上市上櫃興櫃等只要股票有在市面上流通的都算

listed是指掛牌交易的公司(這是形容詞)
掛牌交易的公司包含上市與上櫃的公司
所以應該指出listed in OTC or TSE

I have little knowledge on what is going on in Taiwan.
In the U.K, there is exchange market (LSE) and AIM (alternative Investment Market). The latter is less restricted and less filing documents (continue obligations). Hence more companies listed on AIM.

In legal terminology of Limited indicates the liability of a member (shareholder) on the full payment of the share par value (Initial offering price) upon company's insolvency. I didn't expect ppl wish to learn this detail.

What I appreciate of floatation is getting listed. A process of getting admitted to LSE in exchange of AIM. Floatation to my knowledge indicates continue obligations.

When speak of public market, we refer to regulated or recognised markets (by legal definition of Financial Service Markets Act 2000 in conjunction with European Directive on single passport issue). Public company's equity may be held by investment bank and a few private professional investors which can not be classified as go public because the equity although held by a few public citizens, it is by no means a public at large by law.

Any error such as being relax on the wording is mine. All the best.
